Bunsik Bites: Korean Street Food Heaven in London
Calling all cheese lovers and Korean food fanatics! I finally had the chance to indulge at Bunsik, a haven for all things Korean street food, and let me tell you, it was a revelation.
Remember my (failed) attempt at making Korean corn dogs last week? Let's just say it involved more cheese spillage than epic cheese pulls. It was certainly a learning experience... But anyway, the Bunsik team spotted my attempt and decided to invite me down to try all their delicious food so heres a breakdown of everything I had.
Cheese Corndogs
Their signature corn dogs are a masterpiece – golden, crispy on the outside. For revenge on my own failed cheese pull attempt, I opted for the cheese-filled, cheese-covered, and cheese-sauced corndog. It was bursting with melty cheese in every single bite. Yes, you read that right – 10/10 cheese pulls! Watching them being made is an art form in itself, and something I'll definitely be leaving to the professionals.
Beyond the Cheese: Korean Fried Chicken & Kimbap and Tteokbokk
Bunsik isn't just about cheese pulls (although they are truly epic). They have a whole symphony of Korean flavours waiting to be explored. Craving something a little lighter? Their double-fried Korean fried chicken is a must-try. I went for the soy and garlic flavour, but they have a variety of options to tantalise your taste buds. If you're looking for a healthier option, their in-house made kimbap is also a winner. Brushed with toasted sesame oil and then cut into bite-sized pieces, it's the perfect side dish or light lunch.
No Korean food adventure is complete without some tteokbokki. Bunsik's version features chewy rice cakes swimming in their signature sweet and spicy sauce. It's such a flavour explosion that will leave you, and certainly me, wanting more. I'm salivating just thinking about it right now...
Final Thoughts
Bunsik's menu is so extensive, it was a challenge to choose! From sizzling rice cakes to crispy chicken and cheesy masterpieces, there's something for everyone. While my stomach may have reached its limit this time, my taste buds are already planning a return visit.
So, if you're in London and craving authentic Korean street food, look no further than Bunsik. It's a flavour fiesta waiting to happen!
